Why isn’t my AK-III cutting!?Updated 2 years ago

The AK-III Industrial Tufting Machine uses a knife, not scissors, to cut yarn.

The speed with which your knife will dull depends on how frequently you use your machine, and what kind of yarn you're using. If yarn starts to jam behind the blade, or isn’t making clean, easy cuts, it’s probably time to sharpen or change your knife. If you opt to sharpen, you’ll want to use sandpaper or a sharpening stone to get the blade to a desired sharpness.

If you’d rather change out the blade for a new knife, Tuft the World supplies replacement parts at a reasonable price. Contact [email protected] for more information.
